If a sweet summer treat is calling your name, a trip to Choose Iowa Member, WW Homestead Dairy might be just what you're looking for. With more than 30 ice cream flavors to choose from, this Northeast Iowa destination offers something for everyone.
Located in Waukon, WW Homestead Dairy has been serving customers since 2011. Owners Tom Weighner, Paul Weighner and Tom Walleser bring more than 90 years of combined dairy industry experience to the business. Their commitment to freshness is evident in every product, with milk traveling from local Iowa farms to their creamery in two days or less.
While ice cream is a favorite among visitors, WW Homestead Dairy offers much more. Their lineup includes cream-line milk (non-homogenized), cheese curds, block cheese, butter and cottage cheese; all made with a focus on high-quality, locally produced ingredients. Visitors can also learn more about where their food comes from through tours of the farm and processing plant.
"With the expanding focus on locally produced agricultural products and the growth and support of our Iowa agricultural communities, we are excited to build a successful business that all generations of our family can participate in," the owners shared.
Summer is an especially exciting time at WW Homestead Dairy. On June 13, the creamery will host its first-ever Cheese Curd Fest, featuring food trucks, live music and plenty of cheese curds to enjoy. Visitors can even submit ideas for new cheese curd flavors through the dairy's website. Additional summer events include a drive-in movie night on July 2 and the Corn Days Car Show on August 15.
In 2024, WW Homestead Dairy received a Choose Iowa Dairy Innovation Grant, helping the business continue to grow and expand its offerings.
