Get to Know Your Gouda

5:30 PM — 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026
Event Description

Join us for an event dedicated to Gouda cheese, a Dutch cow's milk delicacy. We will learn about the whole cheese making process, from it's inception to the final product. Frisian Farms Gouda begins with their cows and culminates in a diverse range of offerings, including fresh curds, flavored and smoked aged wedges, and Sneek- a robust wheel aged for 1,000 days.

Cheese making is both an art and a science. We will learn about their production process, how Gouda is an important part of the food culture of this community. As always, we will enjoy a community meal together!

100% of your class fee directly supports local farmers! Our fees go towards purchasing local food for our classes and paying our educators for their time. We also use a percentage of any donations beyond our class fees to buy food from local farms and donate it to food access points around Des Moines. Register & Donate here!
