The Iowa State University Urban Agriculture Program will host a webinar focused on Choose Iowa, the state’s signature brand for Iowa-grown and Iowa-made agricultural products, on Thursday, February 12, from 1 to 2 p.m. central.
Those interested in attending this virtual event must register online.
The webinar will feature Regan Freland, Choose Iowa Membership and Outreach Coordinator. Freland will provide an overview of the program and explain how farmers, food and beverage producers, horticulture businesses, and community organizations can benefit from participation.
Choose Iowa is a program of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship that helps consumers identify products that are grown, raised, or made in Iowa. Products displaying the Choose Iowa logo signal support for local farmers, businesses, and communities. In 2025, the program expanded to include horticultural products, creating new opportunities for urban and small-scale growers across the state.
Freland will also highlight Choose Iowa grant opportunities, which support farmers, businesses, and non-profits seeking support for market access, on-farm processing, or labor-reducing technologies.
Following the presentation, webinar attendees are encouraged to share their questions about Choose Iowa in a Q&A session with Freland.
This webinar is offered at no cost thanks to the USDA TOPP program. This program is part of an ongoing series connecting urban ag producers, professionals, and community members with learning opportunities.
